It's flower-time
On bulbs, building in silence, and something I made for you.
“Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!”
“They’re coming! They’re coming, they’re really coming!”
My twin boys ran in from the garden, all happy faces and enthusiasm.
We planted over 300 flower bulbs together in the last two winters. And they just discovered the first little green sprouts pushing through.
This will be my 38th spring. I’ve seen it before. I enjoy it, I look forward to it.
But watching my kids lose their minds over a few centimeters of green made me stop and actually look.
Because here’s the thing about bulbs.
Nobody sees them working. They’re buried deep, in the cold, in the dark. No likes. No feedback. No visible progress. Just slow, quiet root-building. One root, then another, then another. Until one day they’re ready to surface and present themselves to the world.
Pure magic.
It reminded me of this visual. You grow internally before you grow externally.
Which is also why you haven’t seen me in your inbox for a few weeks. (And no, it’s not the laptop this time. That’s fixed. Finally.)
No. Because I was building.
I’ve finally finished something many of you have been asking for. I’ll share the full story in a next email, because it deserves its own moment.
But if you’re a teacher or educator, I didn’t want to wait to tell you specifically. Because I built it with you in mind.
It’s called the Growth by Visuals Playbook Collection, and as a thank you for being here, you get 20% off with code SPRING20. Valid for 7 days.

P.S. The boys still check the garden every morning.

Love this visual. So true! And I needed to see this today. Thanks Hidde 🙏🏻
